Accessibility

We aim to make core maps, reading content and tools usable on desktop, mobile and assistive technology.

Supported interactions

The redesigned editor provides zoom buttons as an alternative to mouse wheel input, keyboard-focusable country shapes where data supports them, accessible color selections, and downloadable SVG outputs. Some complex geographic canvases remain difficult to describe fully through screen readers. Where possible, geographic names and descriptions accompany visual representations.

Known limitations

Interactive mapping tools may require pointer input or offer incomplete keyboard equivalents. Some legacy map assets lack current geographic subdivisions. Automated browser tests do not replace a full assistive-technology audit. We do not claim formal WCAG certification.
